CREATING TEXTURES FOR GOGOFROG MODELS

The following file formats can be used as textures for Gogofrog objects.

  • SWF (Exported from Flash CS3 or higher, please export as Actionscript 3 / Flash 9 SWF)
    • Use an SWF texture when you require transparency in your texture. Make sure that all of your texture sits inside the dimensions of the movie clip. The stage color does not get included in the texture, anything you put on the stage does. So basically, use the stage to represent the transparent areas in your texture.

    • If you discover an issue with the .swf textures not working properly, it may well be that the image is being cropped to where the visible data sits, this would distort the way the UV mapping lines up with the texture. You can get around this by drawing a small square in each corner of the document so that nothing is cropped.

  • JPG (Exported from any paint like program)
    • Use a JPG when you do not require transparency in your texture.

When creating textures for Gogofrog objects, please keep the resolution of the texture at a maximum size of 256x256 pixels. Creating large textures will just slow the loading of your object and reduce its likelihood of generating revenue for your Gogofrog account.
